  1. This man is one of the most corrupt politicians out there, he is a land grabber, a mafia leader. He takes government property and builds houses at the expense of government. Qamar Zaman recently started construction of a house on the government property located near the Rest House in Sudhan Gali. This is unexceptable as he is a minister and should set an example for others instead of grabbing land where ever he pleases. People of Sudhan Gali should stand up and fight this man and not let him build any houses in that area because that land is not his, it belongs to the goverment and is a major attraction for tourists. People like Qamar Zaman should be prosecuted for corruption and several killings including couple of his own family members who died. He should be put in the prison similar to the one he is visiting in the picture above.

The supporters of the any leader should account their leaders for any corruption and illegal acts. We should not just blindly faith on anyone for the sack of Self benefit, Tribe , Hatred or Love.

  24. You want proof? Go see his house in Sudhan Gali near the rest house? what kind of a man would destroy such a beautiful site that attracts tourists from all over Pakistan. Why would anyone in the right frame of mind vote for this man as he has been elected many times before yet did nothing for betterment of the state. HOW MANY TIMES WILL YOU PEOPLE TEST THESE POLITICIANS BEFORE REALIZING THAT THEY ARE SIMPLY CORRUPT AND DO NOT DESERVE ANOTHER CHANCES. WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF AJK? YOU REPEADITLY ELECT THE SAME PEOPLE YET THEY BRING NOTHING BUT DESTRUCTION TO THE COUNTRY. YOU ELECT THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUR RELATIVES OR OF THE SAME TRIBE. YOUR LOYALTIES ARE WITH INDIVIDUAL PARTIES AND NOT WITH THE COUNTRY. EDUCATE YOURSELVES AND WAKE UP. THE COUNTRY IS ON THE BRINK OF COMPLETE COLLAPSE YET YOU PEOPLE KEEP ELECTING THE SAME POLITICIANS REPSONSIBLE FOR THE DESTRUCTION.... SAHAME ON YOU.

  25. I have failed to understand the mentality behind giving these politicians chances AGAIN AND AGAIN when it is clear from the first time they get elected that they will NOT do anything for the betterment of the PEOPLE. In the west, people investigate every single aspect of a candidate's life before electing them to ANY government post. EXTREMELY TOUGH questions are asked of potential candidates, debates are held in front of the public, ENTIRE records of politicians are brought forth before the public and SLIGHTEST of the mistakes disqualifies them for public service and as a result, there is almost NO corruption ANYWHERE and those countries are among the most advanced nations on the face of Earth. What have we gotten from these "politicians" in past 60 years?. Do You need another 60 years to realize that you need to elect those who are REALLY qualified to lead, those who are REALLY educated. Open your minds and realize that the country is going backwards. Need another 60 years to realize that? well, you do NOT have that much time as the country will not EXIST by then if you do not take the future into your own hands.

  26. Every election season, these corrupt "politicians" start making big, big promises, they lie to public that if given ONE MORE chance, they will bring changes and revolutionize the entire country, that they will change everything, that they will provide basic necessities to the people, that they will fight corruption. Uneducated, idiots believe these politicians and vote for them AGAIN and so they get elected AGAIN but when they are elected, they of course, DO NOT fulfill ANY of their promises and do not care about anyone except a few of their close friends and tribesmen. The whole cycle of lies starts all over again when the time comes again for new elections and just like in previous elections, these corrupt poiliticians get elected due to stupid, un-educated idiots. This has gone on for more than 60 years with just a few people realizing that we have NO future, countries that became independant decades after us have become more advanced than us. What will it take for us to realize that everything around us is falling apart and we may not exist as a nation in next few years if this situation is not brought under control. YOU NEED TO FIGHT FOR YOUR FUTURE OTHERWISE YOU ALL WILL BE HISTORY. THINK people, THINK....where is the end to this cyle of lies and when will YOU stop electing the SAME people over and over again? THINK...THINK...THINK. if you elect the same people who are responsible for the current crisis in the country, then your loyalties lie with a single person/party and NOT with the best interest of the country. May God give us the wisdom to choose leaders who are loyal, sincere to the public, who understand what it feels like to be a poor, helpless person, who understand the problems faced by ordinary public.

  27. Thank you PPP (pait pooja party) here is a headline from Foreign policy magazine's list of FAILED STATES, ENJOY YOU UNEDUCATED IDIOTS WHO VOTED FOR THE SAME PARY RESPONSIBLE FOR MELTDOWN OF PAKISTAN.

KARACHI: Pakistan moved two spots down the list of failed states from 2010, ranking 12th on The Failed States Index 2011. The annual report was published by Fund for Peace, an independent non-profit research organisation that collaborates with the Foreign Policy (FP) magazine to draw attention to political, economic and social pressures experienced by states.

Pakistan placed in the ‘weak but not failed’ category, distinguishing it from chart topper Somalia. The American-based magazine suggested that while Somalia is a threat to its own society, Pakistan poses threats to the West as well. Labelling Pakistan “a cockpit of terrorist violence”, the report also suggests that “state ideology and state institutions abet terrorists”.

However, the report includes Pakistan among the few countries that can “reasonably blame their Western parents for their plight”.

    Functional not failed

Security analyst Imtiaz Gul asserted that he does not consider Pakistan a failed state. “Everyone knows Pakistan has problems – but Pakistan is not alone in creating them,” he said.

Commenting on the volatile security situation in the country, Lt Gen (retd) Talat Masood said that while the armed forces are currently going through a difficult time with the ongoing war against terror, he believes “they are still one of the better ones in the region”.

  28. Enjoy this as well. This is from Time Magazine: By Fareed Zakaria.

Headline: The radicalization of Pakistan’s militar
Whatever their strength, American troops will not determine success in Afghanistan. Nor will the newly formed Afghan National Army. As U.S. forces are gradually withdrawn over the next three years, it is Pakistan’s 600,000-strong army that will become the dominant military force in the region and will try to shape its future. But that military is undergoing a deep internal crisis of identity, its most serious since Pakistan’s founding in 1947. How it resolves this crisis will determine its future, the future of the Afghan war — and much else.

This week’s news that a Pakistani brigadier general has been arrested for his ties to a radical Islamist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir, is only the latest in series of events that have rocked that nation. In the past year, two senior Pakistani officials have been gunned down, one by his own security guard. Last month, well-armed militants attacked a key naval base in Karachi, an operation that required inside assistance. Also last month, a brave Pakistani journalist, Syed Saleem Shahzad, who detailed the growing extremist presence within the Pakistani military, was tortured and killed, almost certainly by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence directorate (which denied the allegation). And then there is the case of Osama bin Laden, who was for years comfortably ensconced in an army town.

  29. the same article continues from Time Magazine "Pakistan’s military has traditionally been seen as a secular and disciplined organization. But the evidence is now overwhelming that it has been infiltrated at all levels by violent Islamists, including Taliban and al-Qaeda sympathizers.

There is also strong evidence of a basic shift in the attitude of the Pakistani military. Last month, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani, was invited to speak at the country’s National Defense University. Addressing a large gathering of officers, Haqqani asked the audience, “What is the principal national security threat to Pakistan?” He offered three categories: “from within [Pakistan],” “India,” and, “the United States.” A plurality voted for the third option.
The vote is consistent with a WikiLeaks document, a 2008 cable from Anne Patterson, the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, expressing shock at the rising levels of anti-Americanism in the next generation of leaders of Pakistan’s military elite. Last November, Dawn, a Pakistani newspaper, described a military briefing in which a senior military officer explained to a handful of top columnists that the Pakistani military viewed the United States as a hostile force trying to perpetuate a state of “controlled chaos” in Pakistan and determined to “denuclearize” the regime.

Islamist ideology is replacing strategy. For 60 years, Pakistan’s military has focused obsessively on its rivalry with India. Large elements within that military appear to be switching obsessions, and the United States is replacing India as the organizing principle around which Pakistan’s military understands its national security interests. If this happens, not only is the Afghan war lost but Pakistan itself is also lost. (It does not have that far to fall; it made its annual appearance this year on Foreign Policy magazine’s “Failed States” list, coming in 12th, above Yemen.)

Ambassador Haqqani explained to his audience, “If [the threat] really comes from the United States then we’ve already lost, ladies and gentlemen, because you can’t beat the United States in a military confrontation. . . . [L]et us be honest, we do not have the means to take on the one military power in the world that spends more on defense technology than the next 20 nations in the world. So that is where I think we sometimes end up having what I call an ‘emotional discussion.’ ” Haqqani was gently pointing out the incoherence of these attitudes, but they persist.
It’s more than emotional. It is an indication that radical Islamist ideas — with America as the great Satan — are now reflexive for many in Pakistan’s military.
After the bin Laden raid, Pakistan’s military dispatched Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani to Beijing to try to cozy up to the Chinese. “We have asked our Chinese brothers to please build a naval base at Gwadar,” said Chaudhary Ahmed Mukhtar, Pakistan’s defense minister, and Gillani returned claiming triumphantly that he had secured the deal. The Chinese, however, were too savvy to play this anti-American game and humiliated the Pakistanis by publicly contradicting the story.

Pakistan is drifting into a strategic black hole. Does the country really think its best path forward is as an adversary of the United States, currying favor with militants and becoming a vassal of China? Are its role models North Korea and Burma? Or does it want to crush the jihadist movements that are destroying the country, join the global economy, reform its society and become a real democracy? These are the questions Pakistan has to ask itself. The United States, for its part, having disbursed $20 billion in aid to Pakistan in the past decade — most of it to the military — needs to ask some questions of its own."
